Monday Reset

This morning I was up and out the door. I needed to run a few errands, mostly to make some returns. I wasn't gone long and when I returned I thought, "I can't take this." I knew it was time for a quick Monday reset.

I mentioned in my previous post that we are helping Megan fix up her little house. It's been a lot more than anticipated, which is normal when you are doing renovations on a house that is 76 years old.

Quick update on that front.... the half bath reno will be complete today. (We are waiting on the delivery of a faucet, as the original one did not fit correctly.) The window shades will be delivered tomorrow, and then the we are on to the main bath reno. It needs some beadboard installed, a new toilet and the vanity put in. Then there is a bunch of little things to do. So, we are slowly getting there.

I put things in their place, wiped down the counters, stove and table. Then I ran the vaccum.

The stove needs scrubbed, the floors mopped, our drop zone gone through. Like I say I am going for tidy, and not perfection, so that is another days project.

Then it was on to the living room. You all are getting a peek at real life! From laundry to put  away to dirty socks on the floor. Like I said real life.

Once picked up I used my duster to touch a few flat surfaces and then ran the vaccum. It still needs a deep dusting and carpets are in desperate need of cleaning.

At least now I can welcome an unexpected guest in with only minor embarrassment!

Monday is my main laundry day. This is where I started.

I basicly made it so I can operate the dryer without moving things and put all of the clean laundry away.

I currently have one load in the washer and one in the dryer, then I am done! It feels good to know I won't have to empty a basket before I can empty the next load.

I sometimes feel social media gives us this instant image of pefection and it's hard to see past the fact that in most cases, real life isn't always perfect. Some days tidy can be enough. For today, I'm satisfied with tidy, not perfection!
