Well, Hello 2020

I have neglected my little space on the web.  To be honest, it's because I've been living life.  I am in such a good place emotionally.  For those that have followed me for a while you know that I had a rough patch. This year I actually found my Christmas spirit!  I had such fun decorating for Christmas and enjoying all of the festivities that go along with it.  So much so that I only took one picture on Christmas.

As I was thinking over 2019 I thought of all the time spent away from home and the projects that were never completed.  We were busy loving Grandma in her last days and helping other with projects.  I don't say that to complain.  The choice was made to do all of those things.

Pondering a word for 2020 I couldn't come up with one.  I was back and forth on home and accomplish.  I believe I will stick with both!  Spending time at home is a huge goal.  I want to fall in love with my home again.  One way to achieve that is to stay home and fluff my nest.  That is where accomplish comes in.  Chuck and I have a list of things we would like to accomplish on the home front.

The first item is already in the works and it just happens to involve both fluffing my home and accomplishing something on the list.  What might that be?
Oh yes, taking down wallpaper.  A messy job! Once complete it was time to wash walls, patch holes, and wash the walls again and again.  Not fun, but certainly necessary.

Then the painting began. The pictures doesn't show it well.  It's a light gray with just a hint of blue.
Finally that was done and it's on to the fun stuff.  Here is sneak peek of one area that is complete.

I am waiting on new window blinds, painting a piece of furniture, and will be building a few things.  With that said it will be closer to the end of month before I am ready to mark it complete and show it off.

  1. Wendi!
    It looks amazing!!!
    I agree with you so.
Being home, creating a calm, peaceful haven for my family...
    That is my goal.
    Yay for you!
And I think you were the one who posted about a dutch oven...
I was inspired to ask Steve for one for Christmas!
Do you have any favorite recipes???

  2. It looks really good. I love the sign over the tv. I am glad things are going good for you. I love what you said about falling in love with your home again. God bless.

  3. That looks great! My main goals for the year are to focus on my home (clutter and routines)and my health. Both need attention! In order to do this, I'm already saying no to certain things that would cause me to get too busy to focus on those things.

  4. I'm so glad you are posting again...I think our decorating style is exactly the same... :-) My word is "Simplify"... I'm taking time to learn new organizational skills, declutter, and establish new routines! Can't wait to hear more from you on the blog!!

  5. That looks beautiful!!! Removing wallpaper is such a pain!
