Newport Aquarium

Before I show you pictures of the aquarium I have to tell you of our adventure. As we started down the ramp to the parking garage we realized that we still had the cargo carrier on the van. There was no where to go but in.   We watched the over head bar swing as we entered.  Thankfully we were able to pull over once we entered.  Good thing since the ceiling was about a foot shorter a few feet away!

The guys were able to remove it, cram it into the back of van (good think the seats fold down!) and then put it back on just before we exited.  I tell you never a dull moment!  One of those things that will be remembered and laughed about for years to come.

If you visit the Cincinnati area I recommend you make a stop at the aquarium.  Plan to make a day of it as this area has many things to offer.  There is a wonderful open mall area from the parking garage to the aquarium.

It all borders the Ohio River.  You are able to walk down the Riverwalk and enjoy the water views.

The evening before there has been storms and several issues of water.  The river was up and the current swift.  Just beautiful!

May your day filled with joy and contentment!

  1. Wendi - I love you for posting this!! :) So this is near the Creation Museum, right? Because I could justify driving over seven hours out there if there was more than one thing to do. Looks like a fun place! Do you recommend any hotels in the area?

  2. We haven't been to Newport, but we have known about it. Maybe soon we can check it out!

  3. I always get nervous when we have the cargo carrier on top of our truck. Glad you guys made it through the garage unscathed. I like the picture of Megan measuring herself next to the shark--cute!

  4. Those garages always make me nervous, I feel very claustrophobic in there lol

Great pictures, looks like you all had a wonderful time :)

  5. So glad you enjoyed "our" aquarium!! Other fun things to do at or near Newport on the Levy: ride the Duck Boats, walk the Purple People Bridge to Cincinnati, take a cruise on BB Riverboats, take a helicopter ride over the city, visit the World Peace Bell in Newport. All fun activities we have done! Jonathan just asked yesterday to go to the aquarium. We used to have season passes but not this year since now that he is in school the hours prevent us from going very much. I also highly the Cincinnati Museum Center as well as the Cincinnati Zoo.

  6. Amber, lots of things to do in this area! You could definitely have a fun vacation, or mini vacation, here!

Thank you for visiting. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment. I hope you enjoyed your visit and will return again!
