There was more take out consumed in the last week then I want to admit. Toward the end of week Megan helped me put together a pot of vegetable soup. This is the first time that she has been able to cut.

Oh my was she excited! I purchased this knife.

She keep saying "look at my big girl knife!" It is such a joy to have her help me in the kitchen.
Friday morning we woke up to more snow. The roads were bad and Megan's school had a two hour delay which means no school for her. This is the first snow this season that was wet enough for a snowman.

Now that Megan was finally able to make her snowman I hope that there is no more snow. It is beautiful, but I have had enough this year! The good thing about this time of year is that the snow doesn't stick around long. The only snow left in the yard last night was the bottom of the snowman. Crazy time of year... snow on Friday and thunderstorms last night!
While Megan and Daddy were out playing in the snow I pulled out my sewing machine.

I don't use it as often as I would like. It is a pain to pull it out and then have to put it away when it is time to eat. I told Chuck that for a week or so it is going to sit out on the kitchen counter. I am in the middle of a project and really want to get moving on it. I hope to be able to show you some of the progress later this week.
I also receive my copy of Ann's book this weekend.

I'll let you know more when I get further along. I have already marked a couple of pages. I usually pass my books on to my mother-in-law and then she passes them on, but I think I will be asking for this one back.
It is time to get the new week started. I hope you are taking time to enjoy the simple moments!
We bought that knife, too and my little girl loves it!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. It's hard to keep going when you feel awful.
Hi Wendi - love this post, hope you are continuing to feel better and better! And, enjoy Ann's book - a treasure!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better. Don't feel bad about the take out. Sometimes it's necessary!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look at that knife. Love your little kitchen helper! Baby Girl's Big Brother loves to help me peel carrots when he's here. He wasn't interested until he saw that I was going to let him use my peeler. LOL!
Have you ever tried a neti pot? I am also at the end of a sinus infection. This time I did not go to the dr because the neti pot was clearing me up.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better as well and don't worry about the take out - far better than hacking over a meal you are trying to cook right? I hope the snow melts as well and not too fast or we will have flooding! Get well.
ReplyDeleteI thought about you this weekend and was hoping you were feeling better. Hopefully the sickness will leave real soon! Praying for you! I have a little helper in the kitchen...she would be thrilled to help mommy cut! Thanks for sharing about that knife ~ I'll have to look into it! Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteWendi,
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
Your windowsill looks so cheerful.
We had more snow here over the weekend, too. We're ready for ya, spring!
Sweet Megan sure is growing up! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way for her to learn! :-) The knife really helps encourage her independence. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of her with the snowman.
Have a great night!
Blessings,
Jill
