Box Full of Fun

Friday evening Chuck brought a big box home from work. As soon as Megan saw it she was ecstatic.

Daddy and Megan spent time cutting out a door and making windows. Then it was time to climb inside and play house.

The house is seeing lots of activity.

Smiling faces greet you when you stop by for a visit.

Chores are carried out with joy.

I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all. ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder

One the best things about Fall is the leaves. All of the colors, textures and the beauty of watching them fall to the ground. Raking all of those leaves doesn't have to be a chore. It can be fun!

Honestly we don't do much raking. The tractor is used to mulch them up.

When we don't let them get too thick the lawn mower will clean the yard up nice.

It looks like today will be the end of our Indian Summer. The rain arrives tomorrow along with cooler temperatures. There will be plenty of time for indoor chores. Today will be spent outside soaking up warmth and sunshine.

I hope you are taking time to enjoy the simple moments!

  1. What fun for Megan. I can remember all the times my kids would play in the big boxes we gave them.

My kids will still have fun jumping into piles of leaves and getting the dogs to play in them as well. They will have fun with the puppy this year.

Have a wonderful day with your family and enjoy the nice day.

  3. Isn't it amazing that you can spend loads of money on fancy toys and they want to play with the BOX! They look like they are having a ball.:) We don't rake our leaves either. We just let the kiddos play in them. Rain is coming to our neck of the woods too. Hope you guys have a great rest of the week.

    Blessings,

  4. I wish I had bought my daughter the Little Tikes iron and board. She loved to iron her doll clothes, using a footstool and a spatula. But now that she is older she wants to use the real thing. Scary!
