Amish Farm

While away we knew that we were in an area with Amish. While out and about we saw a sign that said showed a horse and buggy and said next five miles. We decided to turn off the main road and ran right into an area with about six Amish farms.

I know that Amish are just people. They have their ups and downs just like anyone. I think the thing that draws me to the Amish is the simplicity of their lives. I sometimes wish it was as easy for me to turn away from the world. Leave behind phones, television and pressure to keep up with the Jones.

I hope you are taking time to enjoy the simple moments!

Beautiful photos of a simple time for sure. I still want my vacuum, blow dryer, and cell phone however. Don't think I'd cut it as Amish.

I love your pictures! I have always wanted to travel to Amish country. Yes, I think it is the simplicity of their lives that I am drawn to-a strong sense of family and community. Enjoy your day and God bless.

That's what draws me to the Amish too, Wendi. There's an Amish community that we visited near Laura Ingalls & Almonzo's home awhile back. We took a buggy ride through the community and visited their little store. It was wonderful!

Hope you have a wonderful week. Thanks for the always reminder to enjoy the simple moments. Those are the best moments. :)

Hugs and Blessings,
Tammy

Wonderful pictures. I visited an Amish community 2 1/2 years ago with my parents back in TN. I think that it is the simplicity of their lives that draws me to them as well.

Have a wonderful day.

Love these photos. I've never had the opportunity to visit an Amish community, but I am sure there are some not too far away, so I may seek one out to visit. I do feel there is something to be said for their way of life.

We have a large Amish population about 15 minutes from where I live. We love to visit. I agree with you about their lifestyle. I have always been intrigued by their way of life. I recently finished the book: Amish Grace. It was a wonderful glimpse into their world.

Blessings,
Tiffany

Love these photos! Don't know if I ever mentioned this but my dad grew up Amish and my grandparents were Amish. (I grew up Mennonite.) They lived in a great Amish community in Iowa. I also have cousins in Indiana where there are many Amish. I enjoy viewing their simplicity and seeing their farms and such but do not romanticize their lives since as you said, they are people just like us and are not perfect!
