Fair Fun!

We made it to the fair and had a great time! There were lots of fun activities to do. First we played farmer. Megan was able to collect eggs, plant seeds and then pick her harvest.

Once that was done she was able to take all of her goodies to market. She was issued play money and able to go to the market and buy a snack or drink. Lots of fun!

I love looking at the vintage kitchens. Since we went on a weekday they had women actually cooking in them. This kitchen was from the '30's and the lady had just pulled a cobbler out of the wood stove.

The FAA had set up minature golf. It was the first time that Megan had played.

Fair food was consumed and lots of lemon shake ups were drank. Megan got to see a huge pig up close as it almost ran her down. A young kid was taking walking the pig up the auction when it decided to turn around and go the other way. No pictures of the pig because we were too busy getting out of the way and laughing at Megan's facial expression! I love going to the fair and am already looking forward to next year.

  1. We rarely go to fairs anymore. Our big local fair is $8.00 per person and with 5 of us that's pretty pricey. Plus you have to pay once you get in for any games and, of course, food. Makes for a pretty expensive day!

The kitchen exhibition sounds cool. I think I remember you posting something about that last year, didn't you?

  2. I like the small fairs but the big ones are pricey here too. I do like the kitchen exhibit. Makes me wonder how long it took to cook a meal back then. So glad you had fun.

  3. Looks like a great time! I love all the little things they include for the children to do.

  5. What day did you go? We were there Monday and Tuesday during the day with my parents and went back Tuesday evening with my husband. My 3 year old LOVES the tractors the most! We also went several times last week. We really don't spend much on food. I take snacks and drinks for us. Plus, with the free tickets in the newspaper and the $2 Tuesdays, the Fair is definitely more family-friendly and affordable. This is our vacation for the year, so we are taking advantage of it! We have one more set of free tickets we got from my brother, so we will either go tonight or Saturday. LOVE IT!!

  6. Denise,

We were there on Tuesday. We got in for $2. We didn't eat much either. A hot dog, corn dog and lemon shake up for lunch. Then we all shared a funnel cake and had a couple more lemon shake ups. Did you know that if you buy the large lemon shake up it comes in a plastic cup with a lid and straw and can taken to any stand and have it refilled for $3.00. The fair is also something we on. Did you see the pig race? Megan really liked it.

  8. Yes, we went to the pig race, the free rodeo, the bear show, the horse competitions in the Colliseum, etc. I think we saw just about everything... lol

    Love the Fair!!

Glad you had an enjoyable time!

I saw today's post about your Sunday reunion. Which park did you go to? Brown County? It sure was a good day to be outside! Looks like a pretty decent week this week, too. Just too DRY!!

Thank you for visiting. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment. I hope you enjoyed your visit and will return again!
