Sweet Nothings

Sweet nothings is the name of my newest candle. Hubby brought it home after a recent run to Kroger.

It is described as "sweet and juicy - a sensual medley of ripe fruits and candied cherries." It smells like I have a big bowl of ripe, fresh from the patch bowl of berries on my counter. Just the pick me up a girl needs on a cold, snowy day.

Speaking of sweet nothings...

Megan and I whipped up these pretties over the weekend in anticipation of Valentine's Day.

I also spent some time puttering in the living room. The wallpaper is up and I am at the point where I am putting the goodies back. This is one of my newest finds.

The best sweet nothing of the weekend was this.

I had mentioned to Chuck that I wanted a board for the stove top. I had shown him a couple of pictures and I found this waiting for me on the stove yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. I never know what I might find when he has time to spend in the garage. I am not sure how I am going to paint this up, but am excited to begin. I can't wait to get it finished and then add some goodies on top.

We are expecting another snow storm to roll in tonight. Thankfully we didn't get hit like my east coast family. I am hearing from my northern Virgina family that they have up to 30 inches of snow. Wow! Have a fabulous Monday!

  1. More wintry weather headed our way, tomorrow. We are still blanketed with snow from this weekend.
Hope you have an awesome week. Be safe and stay warm.
    Blessings, andrea

  2. Wendy,

The candle looks so good smelling, and that dough board was a good surprise! I can't wait to see how it turns out.

  3. Wendi,

I like your new wall hanging. Cute cupcakes, too!

Ah, winter. It's -4 here as I type this!

  4. Love your sweet fun...

  5. We have snow here too and we're expecting more this weekend. Southerners just aren't used to this!

I love your new wall hanging and you got a really great shot of those cupcakes. That was a magazine type shot!

Can't wait to see how the board turns out. Stay warm!

  6. Those cupcakes look delish!!

How sweet of your hubby to make your board. That's a neat idea.

Hope you don't get too snowed in.:)

  7. I saw a post you made on the Country Blossom blog and was attracted to the picture of you and your daughter. She's precious! Asian children always catch my eye because I've got two of them - a 9 year old girl and a 3 year old boy - both adopted from Vietnam as babies. Love it!

Just thought I'd stop by and say "hi". Hope you'll visit my blog sometime too.

  8. Hello! Can't wait to see what you do with that board, I just may have to steal your idea!!!

    Happy Valentines Day!

  9. We're supposed to get more of something tonight...some kind of wintry mix!

How sweet of your husband to surprise you with the stove board! I love it!

Tell Megan she made some great looking cupcakes there!

I love candles burning in my home and love, love, love your new wall pic!

Thanks for sharing our Journey to Luke and for your comments! :)

  10. How sweet of your husband to bring you a new candle! We smelled a chocolate mint candle at Aldi's the other day that smelled delicious!

I'm interested in seeing how you decorate the board. Never thought of having one on top of my stove.

Thank you for visiting. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment. I hope you enjoyed your visit and will return again!
