Home Preschool

The last few days I have been organizing worksheets and getting ideas together.

We had considered sending Megan to a preschool program at a christian school. After the sticker shock for two mornings a week we made other plans.

This year there will be home preschool! It is probably for the best. Megan still has separation issues and I don't know if I am really ready for her to go. It is a scary world out there!

Honestly, we are both excited! I love the idea of watching her grow and learn. She loves the idea of preschool and not leaving home. A win, win situation.

Although we are exploring and learning everyday we will begin our official preschool on Monday. I am sure that I will share some of the things we are doing. I found so many wonderful ideas from all the things other homeschooling moms share. Wish us luck!

  1. Wendi,

Have you considered homeschooling her? I can give you some more information on some possible free programs in your area.

If you want, please stop by my blog as I would love to have you join my family of bloggers and become a follower of mine.

  2. You're going to have so much fun!

Not sure if you have one in your area but Sams Club has some preschool workbooks. Fairly resonably priced...around $6-7 they have tons of pages!

  4. I found some prek books in the $1.00 bin at Target. They are great too!

I considered doing that with Aynslee this year but our state offers a free PreK program so we are taking advantage of that. I'm sad she starts school this year but she really needs to be around other kids.

  5. What fun you will have!!! We will be starting our school year in another week or two. As soon as I receive the rest of what I ordered and get a chance to look over it. Have you ever heard of Starfall? It's a great, free website that I have used with my kids. Very preschool/kindergartener friendly.

    Have a great day!

  6. YEA!! I did preschool at home last year!!! (I'm a homeschooler all the way!) It's so fun!!! Have a wonderful time!

  7. Sounds great! 3 is awfully young to send them even for a couple of mornings, in my opinion. This sounds like the perfect compromise. She will be leaving you soon enough - hold on as long as you can. :)

  8. I'm admiring all you great homeschooling mama's! However, I decided I do not have the patience! So, off to school they go!
I love the ideas, though. A lot of the crafts give me inspiration for AWANA at church!
    Thank you!

  9. It is said that the parents who homeschool end up with a quality child. The have your values. Of course on day they will have to "leave the nest" and develope into who they want to be. Hopefully, they will remember the values they learned at home.

  10. BTW...I love your profile pic!!! Too cute! :)

  11. Oh how exciting! We are a home preschool family too! I love teaching my little one(s).

Pop on over to my blog for some ideas!

  12. Wendi,

Sharing school time at home is so much fun. I homeschooled my daughter in second grade thinking I would do it for just one year. She was having a hard time learning to read and I really wanted to help her. We're now preparing to start our tenth year at home. We love it so much, and I hope your time with Megan imparts many of the same blessings that fill my heart with joy.

Thank you for visiting. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment. I hope you enjoyed your visit and will return again!
