Question of the Day

Has anyone ever make bread in a jar? I found some recipes for quick bread, such as banana bread that you bake in a mason jar. You all know how much I love mason jars and my hubby loves banana bread. I thought this might make really cute gifts.

I have added bananas to my shopping list. Unless I hear this is total flop I plan to give it a try.

  1. A long time ago we had a friend who did this successfully. I believe my mom at least tried it... I don't remember the results or all the how-to's, but it is worth a try!

I made cakes in a jar this year and I think they turned out well. I've never made bread in a jar, but I think it would work just as well.

  5. Years ago I remember my grandma baking quick breads in a tin can...but never heard of it being done in a jar.

How do you get it out afterwards?? With a can - you can just open the other end and push it out.

  7. Wow, that sounds really cool! :o) I love both bread (especially rosemary...it's delish!) and mason jars. Hmmm...I'll be Googling this up tonight!

Just also wanted to pop in from Mrs. Wilt's site and say hello to a fellow Olive Garden lover!! Breadsticks, YUMMO!
