Open your photo album with the binder facing up. Then measure the entire width of the photo album. Cut a piece of batting to this measurement and hot glue it to the cover.
Then you will need to cut a piece of fabric large enough to wrap the entire album. Inside cover in all. I then take my fabric and start with the inside cover. I tuck the fabric under the binder clips. Then wrap around the outside of the album and then finish on the back inside cover.
Next you fold the extra fabric on the top and bottom around the inside of the top and bottom of the photo album. Think wrapping a present. Don't worry about the seams!
Now the solution to cover the seams! Take a thin piece of cardboard (can soda boxes work great!) the size of your inside front and back cover and wrap it with fabric. You then glue these to the front and back inside. This covers the area where you wrapped your fabric.
Now the fun part. You can glue lace around the edges or leave it as is. If you want to add a photo or a cross stich message to the front of your album then you would cut a piece of cardboard with the center cut out. Then wrap this in fabric and glue to the front. If using lace you can add lace to this also. Sometimes when I glue on the cardboard on the inside covers I will add a piece of ribbon to close the album. Be sure to cut your ribbon long so there will be enough when the album is full of pictures!
There is lots of room to be creative with these. Have fun!

Fabric Covered Photo Album
I have been busy making Christmas presents. One of the things I am making this year is fabric covered photo albums.

I have made lots of these in the past. They are always fun to make. Great instructions!
I love that you shared this. I have a few of these that my mother made years ago and I've never bothered to figure out how she did them. I'll have to do some in her honor.
